For GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
– 2 Timothy 1:7

Some fear is healthy, natural and reasonable. Nobody likes getting punched in the face or going broke. Some fear is demonic, unholy and crippling. It gnaws at the pit of your stomach. it will bind you and hinder you. Fear can really be a problem.
Facing our fears, or even recognizing them when they happen, takes some presence of mind. overcoming them we need Gods love and power, and ability to think things through.
Paul was a preacher and missionary. He faced fear and violence. His experience in gospel ministry was the whipping post and riots. So he knew fear and he knew victory over fear too.
Paul says binding crippling fear is not of God. Its not the will of God. In fact the scripture teaches us Jesus Christ sets the captives free. Jesus delivers those, who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
We are to engage the enemy and fight the good fight of faith. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We ask for deliverance from fear Submitting to God we resist the devil and rebuke the fear. Casting our cares, our worries, and our fears, over on him for he cares for us. the victory is in Jesus Christ and faith in his name. He is mighty to save. peace.
