FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT FOR A PURPOSE – Ray E Horton

It is not in our own power or might that God uses us, but by His Spirit. So, if you have His Spirit within, He can and will use you. “… Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts” (Zech. 4:6). So, rise up with confidence, putting aside the ways of the world and draw close, into His presence where we find the joy of the Lord, which is our strength. Strong in His power and might, be a part of advancing His Kingdom.

Rise up with confidence and strong in His power and might, be a part of advancing His Kingdom

Yes, little ole you can be mighty in your influence for Him on those around you as you surrender: “Have Your way Lord!” Become available for His purposes. He has filled you for a purpose, so rise up to your calling, your destiny.

It’s not in our own greatly insufficient power and might, but in His all-sufficient power and might. With Him dwelling within us, His power is ours, and we can say with the prophet Micah, “But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might…” (Micah 3:8), and more so, with Jesus in us, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Be Strong in His Power

So, in the words of the Apostle Paul, let the Lord encourage us: “Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” (Eph. 6:10). We are fully equipped with all of God’s provision when the enemy would try to hinder the work of the Lord in us. We have: His truth, His righteousness, His peace, His faith, His salvation, and the “sword of the Spirit,” His Word of God (Eph. 6:14-17), the full armor of God.

Let us remember that we are a family, the family of God, so: “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints” (Eph. 6:18).
