Yes, because secular society is not Christians and they fall under the time of the Law.
Apostle Paul, the great grace expositor, said the Law is for those who sin.

Yes. I have many comments on the original post if people want to look at them but I have one other thing. Add right now if you are sinning habitually sinning. And maybe you have committed murder you are living outside of God’s grace at that time when you’re sending your outside of God’s grace habitual if you haven’t changed your lifestyle and you’re committing sin if you’re stealing committing adultery and whatever the saying may be right on down the murder your living outside of God’s grace Christians have the grace of God but Sinners do not have the grace of God because they have not accepted the grace of God so they have rulers who are over them who can and should punish sin and they have guidelines to go by such as the Israelite law which is a good law yes it’s true that they did not practice capital punishment but yet we know the juice and the Romans use capital punishment 1 in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ 2 in the stoning of Stephen 3 I guess you could say all the apostles except for John was capital punishment John himself was capital punishment by putting him in a barrel of boiling oil and 10th and Paul himself gave his head for the cause of Christ everyone just say of the 12 disciples where capital punishment and they the people who did it were not in God’s grace at that time but if you’re living under the grace of God and you accidentally do something maybe it is murder such as you have an accident you run a red light and you cause an accident and a person’s life is taken then I think that it should be some mercy there
I will be the first one to say that I justice system in fairy floss it was even better back in the days the when I country was beginning and really on up to the early 1900s when they had vigilante justice most people didn’t do vigilante justice it said that they had two or three Witnesses yes I’m in favor of the death penalty but not for every crime.
I myself believe that according to what the Bible teaches that all sex in should be punished by Death God instigated the family created the family and he meant for it to be that way and yes I believe that if a person is a witch or use a magic or cast a spell on people they deserved death

Death penalty may be a mute question with the numbers of people taking their lives, taking life through infanticide, or substance and narcotics along with prescription meds. Agreed?

If Abraham went to war to rescue Lot instead of sitting in the temple and praying in tongues, Lot would still be a captive in the hands of the enemies.
Abraham’s great great great grand children didn’t sit back or run for their Talmud when they were attacked in the 1973 Yom Kippur War.. They went for the enemy’s throat and routed them..
God gave the Jews a land, trained them for warfare and they have not laid down their weapons because of grace.
I believe the primary reason for war training is defensive in nature: we attack when attacked.
I don’t see any qualms for a Christian soldier or policeman shooting and killing an enemy in combat.

      YEAH is the answer.
But WHAT IF the murderer gets broken down in his heart and realises his folly and REPENTS?
      Then the answer is NO.
Unfortunately the laws of men do not have this in place and work out from EXTERNAL EVIDENCE to institute a judgment.
Troy you know there is such a thing as the SPIRIT OF KILLING..
What if the killer was driven by demonic forces to commit the offense..
Then the hangman will hang an innocent man and free the culprit.the demon..
What if the offended parties feel mercy and forgive the murderer would the judge still execute him?
The purpose for execution was to find justice to the offended.. but what if..
Troy your question is too short and tight like a mini skirt..
Please make it long like a maxi..

Isara Mo so how do you deal with such situations?

    • Isara Mo
      Reply December 8, 2019

      Isara Mo

      Troy Day
How did God deal with such situations?
In the OT there were cities of refuge… where murderers could run to and be safe.
The wise God had solutions to every situation. The wise man of Troy Days day has marred God’s wisdom by being self righteous in their seats of justice.
Troy the death penalty is a complex matter and if I say I have a solution to such situations(the complexities involved) I will be fooling myself.
I bet even a rocket scientist cannot give a solution to this problem.
The day a person comes to the true knowledge of God is the day they will stop shedding innocent blood and it is the day the capital punishment will be mulfunctional.
Only the knowledge of God can stop a man from killing another. We don’t hear many stories of genuine believers in Christ shedding blood.. The software inside of them is murder free.
Jesus put a stopper to the murder problem by saying :you have heard it said to the ancients do not murder and that whoever murders is subject to judgement but I tell you WHOEVER is ANGRY with his brother is subject to the judgement(capital punishment?)
Jesus addresses the issue of murder from its root cause: ANGER…
When Cain became angry he murdered his brother Abel.
Put a stop to anger and in that way you put a stop to murder and you hence resolve and solve Tray Days dilemma of whether the death penalty has a YEAH OR NAY answer..
Your question has both answers and I believe if cities of refuge are built inside of our hearts and not outside as in the OT the hangman will go fishing….

A soldier without anger is like a puff adder without poison..
Anger is useful like a knife if used wisely.
No wonder God said be angry and not sin knowing that anger is a resource if harnessed rightly.
Did Imperial conquest policy use it?
      Yes.
Pretend to be merciful with the enemy with a polio vaccine and slowly kill them off.
No anger here. subtle grace laced with cynnide? Very attractive package.
I think personally think there is too much innocent blood being shed today than in the OT, because the anger element has been stifled by cold blooded men in robes who play the piano while cutting off your jugular(illustration..)

Globally, of the 195 United Nations states, 55 countries retain capital punishment, 104 countries have completely abolished it de jure for all crimes, eight have abolished it for ordinary crimes (while maintaining it for special circumstances such as war crimes) and 28 are abolitionist in practice. Eccl. 8:11 “When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.” This issue is almost as destructive to a society as not enforcing execution for heinous crime. This issue is related to the distinction between: “murder” & “kill.”

Troy Day it is not the church that carries out the death penalty it is the state… And they do not bear the sword for nothing! This is scriptural! The sentence of death carries with it both punitive & restraining qualities. The Old Testament bear’s this forth!

So the people of God in the land of God were to enact the Law of God to keep people from going wild and missing out upon God! God‘s command to wipe out wicked people from the land was to maintain the holy quality of the environment & the character of his people! We should never call what is holy and keeps people holy as if it were evil!

The one person in this universe who will slaughter more people than anyone else is Jesus Christ … on the day of judgment at the Battle of Armageddon a sword will come forth from his mouth and he will personally slaughter hundreds of millions of evil demon possessed soldiers! The slaughter will be so great that the blood will rise up to the horses bridal and cover the entire valley of Armageddon!

My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord! He tramples out the grapes of wrath with his terrible swift sword!

Troy Day The wicked should be deterred in this life and punished in this life & the next. The church exists to free people from there own & other’s wickedness. But if the State has laws which enforce righteous it is our duty & joy to promote righteousness & vengeance. “It is not the righteous who are afraid of the law but the wicked.” Romans 13:3 Righteousness is not “mambi-pambi” but fierce when faced with wickedness. Angel Parents know this well.
