The main benefit of prayer when we understand its true purpose

How do we reach such a level in prayer – that we can hold the initial enthusiasm and even add to it where the prayers will weaken over time?

This seems to depend on our approach to prayer – if the purpose of prayer is only to achieve what is wanted, after a short while, we become discouraged when wesee that “we are not going to convince God.”

Prayer is not meant to bring about a “change in the position” of God. On the contrary, God is always willing to give only that we need to make ourselves worthy through prayer.

The most important thing about prayer is the change it brings about within us, through which we fully internalize our awareness of God and the knowledge and belief that everything is in our hands.
