The archangel Gabriel said to Daniel :
70 weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city:
to finish the transgression,
and to make an end of sins,
and to make reconciliation for iniquity,
and to bring in everlasting righteousness,
and to seal up the vision and prophecy,
and to anoint the most Holy.” (Daniel  9:24)
From what is said  by Gabriel it is apparent that  the 70 weeks are to cover the entire years of history, for apart from anything else they are to  usher in  “everlasting righteousness”….and to “anoint the most Holy” This surely would go beyond the people of just the Captivity… Indeed it  involves the whole  of humanity…
The restoration of Jerusalem has everything to do with the coming of the Messiah.
Gabriel continues “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem unto Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and three score and two weeks” (Daniel 9:25) These Prophetic weeks are to start  the count down to Messiah at the restoration of Jerusalem… Messiah comes Twice… At seven weeks, and then at three score and two weeks. One prophetic week is seven years (Genesis 29:27)
Messiah will come Seven Prophetic weeks (49 years) from the command to restore and build Jerusalem, said  Gabriel…King Cyrus, in the first year of his reign (559 B.C) At the end of Israel’s Captivity in Babylon, released Israel to go back to their homeland. This Israel did and restored the city of Jerusalem and the Temple that king Nebuchadnezzar had destroyed at the beginning of  Israel’s captivity.
Did Messiah come after the 49 years (7weeks at 7 years each) had counted down?  No.  not even at  490 years (7×70) as this would have been short by 69 years, to the birth of Christ (Because 559 B.C, the start of  Cyrus’s command, minus 490 years leaves 69 years short.) And short also by a further 30 years after the birth of Jesus to the commencement of his ministry: totalling 99 years short in all…  Clearly this was not God’s time for his Son Jesus the Messiah to come…
The centuries of time went by until king Herod the Great was on his throne. In the year 19 BC he began to restore and improve the Temple and the city of Jerusalem that the exiles of Israel had worked upon on their return after their captivity, in the first year of king Cyrus….The Angel Gabriel’s prophecy of the 7 prophetic weeks (49 years) after Jerusalem was restored, Messiah would come.  On this occasion the time had  arrived  for  Jesus to come into the world and  start his public ministry.
He was about thirty years of age (Luke 3:23) when his ministry began. These 30 years plus the 19 years in BC. add up to 49 years, that is Seven Prophetic weeks after Herod started the work of restoration at Jerusalem. This fulfilled the words of Gabriel concerning the coming of  Messiah the first time.
Jesus read from God’s Word in the synagogue, at the commencement of his ministry: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-19)  After completing his ministry, which lasted three and a half years,  Jesus was  crucified….
Some 37 years later, the Roman general Titus quelled the Jewish revolt in the year 70 A.D. and destroyed the Temple and the city of Jerusalem. During the years that followed Jerusalem was fought over many times, for example during the Crusades.  In the process of time, it would  pass  into the hands of the Turks and others, including the Ottoman Empire. The British Empire gained control of Jerusalem through the defeat of the Ottoman Empire that had come on the side of Germany  during World War One.
General Allenby and the  British army, having won the war, later dismounted their horses and walked on foot into Jerusalem as a sign of respect…Israel, being in the hands of   Britain now, was administered by them for the next thirty years until their  Mandate ended in 1948 and the British departed Palestine. War immediately broke out  between  Israel and the Arab nations in Palestine. When a cease fire was   called for a year later in 1949 Jordan was in control of East Jerusalem.
War between the Arabs and Israel was never far away and in June 1967 war broke out again. However, by an act of God, it was over in only six days.! Israel had won a resounding victory over her enemy. And East Jerusalem that up till then had belonged to the Jordanians, was now totally in the hands of Israel….  East Jerusalem was united with West Jerusalem  (that had already belonged to Israel) and the city was no longer divided… The building of settlements in East Jerusalem for Israeli citizens to occupy immediately started…
From then (1967) Three score and two weeks, (62 weeks) as mentioned by Gabriel,  Messiah would come again…Observe this: Because 70 weeks represented 70 years  of the Captivity, then three score and two weeks, or 62 weeks, must represent 62 years. 1967 plus 62 years would make the date on the calender 2029 when Messiah would come again…But only as is explained below:-
In the parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins, at midnight a cry was made  “ Behold the Bridegroom cometh go ye out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6) The wise virgins, with their lamps trimmed, were ready and were divinely transported into heaven in the Rapture with Jesus the Bridegroom (the Messiah) and thereafter enjoyed the marriage supper with him  in heaven.
The foolish virgins were out trying to buy oil for their lamps (that had gone out) when Jesus the Bridegroom came and missed their opportunity of going with him   in  the Rapture. Consequently they had to face the Great Tribulation that would transpire on  earth…
The scripture concludes: “after three score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but  not for himself”.  At mid week of the last seven years, the One world Church with its false doctrines will hold total spiritual power worldwide. Thus the True Word (Jesus) will cease to exist, having been  cut off ” by the presence of the One World Church with its false doctrines… And the sacrifice for sin will have come to an end….
Conclusion: The Rapture takes place in 2029 when the Bridegroom (Jesus the Messiah) calls for his Bride mid week….  The world ends  three and a half years later  at the close of the week, and at the end of The Great Tribulation…
The years of the prophecy add up thus:-  7 weeks Jesus comes the First time to fulfil his ministry on earth. Then at 62 weeks Jesus comes the Second time (to call for his Bride.) Plus 1 week the last week of the prophecy….Adding the weeks up:-  7weeks, plus 62 weeks, plus 1 week, totals 70 weeks….Gabriel prophecy of the 70 weeks will have been fulfilled….Thereafter the kingdom of God will  commence with the Millennia reign of Christ on earth…
Jesus will reign on earth, assisted by the Raptured saints, his Bride, referred  to in the last line of Gabriel’s prophecy, “ to anoint the most Holy.” (Note that Jesus was always an anointed vessel, as is confirmed as being so at the time of his ministry)  What a different place for the better will this old world is going to  be…
