STAY IN HIS PRESENCE: IT’S A MATTER OF THE HEART
Ray E Horton

In His presence is the fullness of joy, and the joy of the Lord is our strength, so our spiritual and emotional strength comes from being in the presence of the Lord. Yes, He is always with us, but the joy comes from experiencing Him in our hearts.

Spend Time with the Lord

Our spiritual and emotional strength comes from AWARENESS of being in the presence of the Lord

And the way we stay in His presence is to spend time with Him and focus our attention on Him. Not only when thinking of things, but when doing our work and day to day routine, we can be:

  • Praising Him in our hearts
  • Be thankful for all He has done and who He is to us
  • Be praying in the spirit, which will keep us in His presence with the inner joy that is our strength.

God is Bigger than Circumstances

That is a joy that isn’t dependent on circumstances. In every circumstance we can give thanks, even when the enemy comes against us, or we make foolish mistakes, because our God is bigger than those circumstances, and when we turn to Him, He is there for us. As Paul writes: “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thess. 5:18).

And when we have that joy and strength that comes from His presence, we can be free from worry and experience ongoing His perfect peace.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! … Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:4-7).
