THREE TYPES OF PROSPERITY – Ray E Horton

Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2).

I see three types of prosperity. First and foremost, true prosperity is indeed in the spirit; it is the prosperity of being made the righteousness of God in Christ, with all our sins forgiven and removed when we are Born Again and having the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

In the Overflow

Material prosperity and good health can be an overflow of the prosperity of our soul, which is mind, will and emotions, being renewed in God’s Word

The verse above assumes the first and addresses the second and third. Material prosperity and good health can be an overflow of the prosperity of our soul, which is mind, will and emotions, being renewed in God’s Word, trusting in faith in God’s promises, and allowing the Holy Spirit-joined spirit man to have control.

Recognize Prosperity of Spirit

The prosperity of our soul rarely develops without the knowledge of our prosperous spirit, who we have been made to be in Christ. And, without that, we can be quite vulnerable to emotional and physical sickness and material poverty.
