Ezekiel 1: Difficult Visions — Ezekiel’s vision of the cherubim and the wheels is one of the most perplexing passages in Scripture. The four living creatures, each with four faces, the wheels within wheels, the expanse like crystal — what does it all mean? At its heart, the vision is a revelation of God’s glory, His sovereignty, and His mobility. God is not confined to the temple in Jerusalem; He is present with His people even in Babylonian exile. The wheels show that God can move and act anywhere. Whatever your exile, God is there.
