Daniel’s 70 Weeks (Study pt. 6)

Daniel 9:24 “Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

What Must Be Accomplished?

70 weeks are determined to anoint the Most Holy.

6. To Anoint the Most Holy

This phrase echoes the anointing of the tabernacle and its furnishings in the Old Testament. Just as the tabernacle was consecrated for God’s presence, Christ is anointed as the ultimate meeting place between God and humanity.

The New Testament presents Christ as the Anointed One:

* anointed with the Holy Spirit,

* anointed as Prophet, Priest, and King,

* and exalted as the one through whom God’s presence dwells among His people.

The seventy weeks therefore culminate not in an earthly temple ritual, but in the person and work of Christ Himself.
