But President Trump’s new conference on the topic was a great shock/disappointment. Rather than stress the liberation of the Venezuelan people, and the end of the drug highway from Venezuela, he touted how U.S. companies will now get control of Venezuelan oil. This is what the Latin American Left had been saying, we don’t care about liberty, it’s all about oil. Awful. Will there be war with Iran soon? And how does that tie in to Biblical prophecy? Let’s consider what we know and what we do not know. And what should be our response?
We Know From Headlines
As of February 5, 2026, the headlines say:
The U.S. and Iran are heading into nuclear talks in Oman (Feb 6).
Multiple regional leaders are publicly urging restraint.
U.S military buildup usually means deterrence but also raises the risk of miscalculation.
Today Iran seized two foreign oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. That can escalate fast if something goes wrong at sea.
News agencies all report the tension is exceedingly high.
We Know From Scripture
1. Ezekiel 38–39 (Gog/Magog) and “Persia”: Ezekiel specifically names “Persia” as part of a group of countries that will come against Israel. Scripture indicates end-time war against God’s people will involve regions that include ancient Persia.
2. Daniel 11 maps Iran as being one of the regional powers that will come against Israel. It also teaches that God rules history, and is ultimately in control.
3. Revelation chapters 16 and 19 show escalating conflict and a final alliance against Israel and the Lamb.
4. Human kingdoms rage. Spiritual powers deceive. Christ still wins.
Scripture Directs Us In Our Response
The world is fragile and the nations still rage—but Scripture never told us to become prophecy prognosticators. When that happens we lower ourselves to the positions of Punxsutawney Phil. Scripture tells us to be faithful witnesses. Today’s crisis may be the “the” crisis or just another crisis in the course of time. Our posture must stay the same: watchful, prayerful, steadfast, and unafraid because the will of God will be done and in the end our God reigns.
War is always possible in a fallen world. Acknowledge the real risk without pretending you have God’s calendar taped to your refrigerator. Instead of trying to match today to one verse, tie today, to the Bible’s repeating patterns that culminate in the end.
· Pattern 1: The nations rage; God laughs (Psalm 2). Nations posture; God remains unbothered. This is what the world looks like when it resists the reign of God.
· Pattern 2: Wars and rumors are not the sign; they are the backdrop (Matthew 24). Jesus says, “Do not be alarmed.” It is the environment of the age. Do not let the news shake you; let God’s Word secure you.
· Pattern 3: Deception and alignment will increase toward the end. Lawlessness will abound and the love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12-13).
The end-time world is influence by deceptive powers, hardening loyalties, and finally, open hostility towards the Lamb and His people with an increasing focus on professing believers. Deception, escalation and alignment is the tactic.
We do not know whether there will be war with Iran soon. But we do know this: Scripture warns us the nations will rage, and it tells us not to panic but to stay faithful — because Christ can return at any moment.”
What Can Biblical Christians Do?
We can embrace the culture of heaven and the posture of a Christ follower. Pray for rulers (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Focus fully on Christ and avoid fear-driven Christianity (John 14:27). Be mission-forward (Matthew 28; Acts 1:8). Keep your life clean and your lamp lit (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11; 1 John 3:2-3). Stay watchful. Stay steady. Stay clean. Stay on mission. The King is coming. No one knows the time nor the hour.

Ricky Grimsley Philip Williams The secular media will not often explain the real reason why Iran wants Israel’s destruction. Perry will show you the reason for this hatred. The article was to the Israeli officials. This article is about the message that I preached. I will be sending this message to the Israeli officials again, asking them to pull the IDF back when the attack begins. (God moves on the hearts of men.) I ask you to join in prayer with me that not one Israeli soldier will die in this GOG and Magog war of Ezekiel 38 and 39. They don’t have to die because God Almighty will fight the battle for them.
Text Ezekiel 38 and 39: When will this war begin?
That is the big question. It would be easy for us if the Lord set a date in the Bible as to when this war will occur. What are the views on this?
Before the rapture of the church.
Before the start of the tribulation period.
During the tribulation period.
At the end of the tribulation period.
At the end of the 1,000-year reign of Christ on the earth.
A writer in rapture ready believes March 2023 or March 2024. (I would not be surprised.)
What do I believe?
I believe there is a good chance it will happen before the rapture of the church but most definitely before the start of the tribulation period. Below is why I feel it will happen before the rapture of the church.
Daniel 11:44 “But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.”
Russia and China are troubling the antichrist already. The main players in the Middle East are Russia, Iran, and Turkey. They will not attack Israel until America is brought down to her knees. America and the United Nations have been fighting Russia in Ukraine since February 2022. Yes, I believe America will fall before the rapture of the church.
According to the verse in Daniel, there will be a nation from the north and a nation from the east that will cause the antichrist problems. Before he will be able to take full power over the world, these three nations have to be defeated in a big way (Gog and Magog war). China will be the only one left, but they will not want to fight most of the world by themselves. After the Lord wipes out this massive army, then, soon, the antichrist will have a peace treaty for Israel to sign with many nations; this will be the start of the tribulation period.
What is so amazing to me is how fast the one-world government is coming into play in our lives today. You can see what is happening today to know that we do not have too many years before the peace treaty is signed for the start of Jacob’s troubles. If this war occurs after I am gone to be with the Lord, it is not going to matter when it will start. But I do believe it will be before the tribulation period. Let’s get into the message.
Magog, Rosh = Russia, and the former Soviet Republics
Persia = Iran
Cush = Sudan
Put = Algeria, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Libya
Gomer, Meshech and Tubal = Turkey, Germany, Austria
Beth-Togarmah = Turkish-speaking people of Asia Minor and Central Asia
Ezekiel chapter 38 (three key players in this coming war: Russia, Iran, Turkey)
Ezekiel 38:2 “Son of man set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,”
Ezekiel 38:3 “And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal”:
In verse 2, Russia is the number one player.
In verse 3, if the Lord is against you, I’m telling you right now that you do not have a chance to go against God and win. What is so amazing to me is that over 1,000 years later, at the end of Christ’s reign on earth, Gog and Magog will go against the Lord again (Revelation 20:7-9). Fire will come down from God and will consume them. It seems to me that billions of people throughout history love their sins more than Jesus.
Ezekiel 38:4 “And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords”:
This is going to be a massive army with a massive number of weapons. We see here that Russia will have learned its lesson from the war with Ukraine. This might be the largest land invasion ever in history. Fighter jets, helicopters, tanks, artillery, and foot soldiers – all heading toward Israel at the same time.
Ezekiel 38:5 “Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet”:
Ezekiel 38:6 “Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.”
Verses 6, 8, 9, and 15 say, “and many people with thee” This might be the largest invasion force to ever come together in one place. Look at verse nine.
Ezekiel 38:9 “Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.”
I believe that, in the enemies’ hearts, they believe they will win this war. All of the leaders in this attack on Israel cannot wait to get the spoils of war.
Ezekiel 38:10 “Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought”:
Ezekiel 38:11 “And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,”
In their hearts, they think that with this massive army, they can finally destroy Israel. They might say what the leaders have said: “we will wipe them off of the face of the earth.” Can you imagine how many people from around the world will feel the same way? How many people will start working on the parties they will have over the destruction of Israel? What a shock that will be when God comes to Israel’s defense.
Verse 12 says why they will attack. “To take a spoil and to take a prey.” Israel is the richest nation on the face of the earth. All of these nations need money.
Ezekiel 38:15 “And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army”:
Ezekiel 38:16 “And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.”
Verse 16: Why is the Lord doing this? “that the heathen may know me.” God revealed himself to the world through Egypt. Now, in the last days, he will reveal himself to the world through this Gog and Magog war.
Ezekiel 38:18 “And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.”
Don’t mess with Israel. If you want to make God really mad at you, go against Israel. This will not go well with you or your family.
Ezekiel 38:19 “For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel”;
Ezekiel 38:20 “So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.”
Ezekiel 38:21 “And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.”

2 Kings 6:13 “And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.”
2 Kings 6:14 “Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.”
2 Kings 6:15 “And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?”
2 Kings 6:16 “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
2 Kings 6:17 “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
The enemy has surrounded Elisha, and the young man believes they will die. But this is what Elisha said to him: “Fear not; they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” Thank you, Jesus.
In verse 17, He asked the Lord to open the eyes of the young man, and so the Lord did. The army that was behind them was huge. The easiest thing to do is have fear in our lives, but we don’t have to. The army behind us is far bigger than the army in front of us. This is so comforting to me right now. With all we are facing ahead of us, we can still have peace in our hearts to know that the Lord will see us through it all.
