HAUNTED HOUSE EXPERIENCE in your CHURCH
Are you planning one for Halloween? Is it Biblical or demonic?
Will it really get people saved for the Kingdom?

Halloween is strongly rooted in paganism, and stems from people offering sacrifices on their doorstep to ward off evil spirits. I have no idea how candy will ward off an evil spirit, but it sure attracts children!

Some Churches have something called Hallelujahs instead of Halloween festivals, but it the celebration of the date so nonetheless is derived from paganism, whether you dress up like an angel or demon. The Jewish celebrated Harvest at the end of the month of October as far as the Christian calendar is concerned, in this event they would offer their “First Fruits” to God.

Halloween and all Pagan adapted holidays seem to be Jewish holidays that had a twist that was demonic put on them.

Passover was turned into Easter since it coincided with a pagan holiday as well. Catholics did this to bring in converts.

HAUNTED HOUSES are from SATAN

Levi Allen Goff, if churches wanted to have a dress-up party the same day as the world, they could have either All Saints or Reformation Day events where kids could dress up like Biblical characters, historical saints, Reformers, etc. All Saints would appeal more to Roman Catholics or Anglicans. Reformation Day might work for Reformed churches. I don’t know if this stuff would fly with Pentecostals, who typically don’t focus that much about church history between 90 AD and 1900 unless its something about John Wesley…

And then for the Bible characters, a lot of the kids would wear bath robes. The one with the stuffed animal lion would be Samson. The one with a stick and sling carrying a gory fake giant head (Halloween style) would be David.

But even that would look like compromising with the world. How about a real serious intense prayer meeting for the society we live in instead.

If someone wrote up a description of the day of the dead ceremonies in Mexico and said Pentecostals were participating, we’d all be against it. Do the same with Halloween, and you probably get mixed opinions.

good idea – lets dress kids like Calvin Charles will love it

One boy could dress like Calvin, and his brothers and sisters could tie themselves to stakes with construction paper fire.

Be Servetus and whoever else they burnt. I don’t know if the Genevans ever burnt someone for being an Anabaptists, but I think they threatened at least one they banished to burn him if he returned. I read they burnt people for witchcraft.
