Ermar Reyes Luna Win Worley claims that churches that do not practice casting out of demons are out of balance in their ministry. And that miracles and submission of demonic powers was the most effective way to evangelize the pagan world

Ermar Reyes Luna [02/20/2015 8:42 AM]
what can u say about this?

Pentecostal Theology [02/20/2015 9:31 AM]
not much, but I do have plenty of questions about it

Ermar Reyes Luna [02/20/2015 3:50 PM]

I think he was baptist, but the Spirit led him further…

That would have been true prior to 70 AD

I agree, as they present and manifest. Even today, If the gifts are still active, and the fruits are still needed which come from the same Spirit then so are the effects of the Great Commission.

I would not model a deliverance model after that which had been practiced by Win Worley’s church in Hammond, IN. Paper bags were passed out to attendees with the expectation that almost anyone would vomit out demons during the service. Believers were taught that new demons should be ejected weekly if not daily. John Eckhardt largely followed this model in Chicago.

Crazy people twisting and distorting the True and Pure Gospel.

But there is still a True and delivering Gospel.

passing out paper bags would be so highly suggestive which I find in a lot of deliverance ceremonies.

If you compare the books of Derek Prince and those of Win Worley’s you do find a few areas of commonality but also a lot of differences.

Don Basham wrote a good bit about deliverance ministry too.

Charles Simpson. Yeah I used to read New Wine and followed the five men who headed up the discipleship movement in the early 1970’s.

Unfortunately it destroyed a marriage and family in our congregation

Yes the shepherding movement went sour as control freaks took control in local groups (much like happens in other groups). Fortunately the men who pushed for the movement backed away from it or at least looked for better ways to disciple people but not before much damage was done. Read also about Hobart Freeman and his movement based out of Indiana in the 1970’s and early 1980’s.
