I agree, as they present and manifest. Even today, If the gifts are still active, and the fruits are still needed which come from the same Spirit then so are the effects of the Great Commission.

I would not model a deliverance model after that which had been practiced by Win Worley’s church in Hammond, IN. Paper bags were passed out to attendees with the expectation that almost anyone would vomit out demons during the service. Believers were taught that new demons should be ejected weekly if not daily. John Eckhardt largely followed this model in Chicago.

Yes the shepherding movement went sour as control freaks took control in local groups (much like happens in other groups). Fortunately the men who pushed for the movement backed away from it or at least looked for better ways to disciple people but not before much damage was done. Read also about Hobart Freeman and his movement based out of Indiana in the 1970’s and early 1980’s.
