Troy Day and he has that right!!! But he’s the Pastor and if he’s waiting on an update about someone close to him, that was dealing with a health crisis that is his right!!!
And I see no problem with it. But for the record when I’m in service, my phone is off or in airplane mode.
This is another reason why phones should be off, due to tail bearers and busy bodies, that are always lurking for that one misunderstanding.
This is why the church in America is a mess!!

Troy Day He was waiting for his friend to text him back so the group could pray for his wife while she was in speaker phone. It would be one thing if he was just scrolling through Facebook. Him coordinating a phone call for a live prayer is just fine. I pray in tongues and look in my rear view mirror regularly. I would never check the mirror from the pulpit, but it’s just fine to do it in the driver seat to make sure I’m not gonna kill someone.

Troy Day I’ve been to her services, back in the day, which was great. You can never go by what media says, because they misconstrue and skew things according to their beliefs and views.
But to text in tongues, I couldn’t, with me there are boundaries. But remember not all Christians don’t walk in the spirit!!
And the natural man cannot understand the things of the spirit, unless they are baptized in the Holy Spirit!!

I think context is the key here. I don’t like drinks in the sanctuary, but I’m willing to make an exception for someone coughing their lungs out or someone who is sick. Normally, I wouldn’t want someone looking at their phone in the service, but he was about to have the lady call and be prayed for on the speaker phone. What upsets you about this?

My 2nd observation is that a Christian from the audience leaked the story to dailyMail – I cannot see how secular press be watching Perry and waiting for him to be texting
Last but not least Daniel J Hesse out liberal brother Robert Erwine is wrong for way too many things BUT maybe right in this case here I am still waiting for him to make his point though before I lead out any conclusions
