“Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.”
– Lamentations 2:19

Sharing the great love of God in the person of Jesus Christ. At the club scene.
It’s 12 a.m. A hundred souls lined up in the cold waiting to get in. 58° feels like 48° the weatherman says. The smell of ganja everywhere. A fight in the line. A guy got bitten by a girl. He’s told to leave. Girls wearing next to nothing. The under 30 crowd.
I tell them there is an epidemic of STD’s in our city. Don’t let the devil get you tonight. He wants to snatch you up. God cares about your soul. Jesus breaks the curse of alcohol and drugs. Dont let the fake bling fool you ladies. Some of these men are still living at home with their mother. It’s in fun, nothing mean. They received it that way which was nice.
Then the weather really got cold with the wind. I was shivering and I had a jacket on. These young girls were half naked. This wasn’t the ‘molly’ crowd so they were feeling the cold.
I was there almost two hours talking to people. Praying asking God for help. It’s a fools errand I know. But what if I told you one young girl told her friends “this ain’t for me, you go ahead, I’m going home” shes the one I politely told her, “ma’am you’re coming out of your top.” And she was. I think she was a nice church girl roped in by her friends.
It”s heartbreaking to be so ineffective. I fail a lot. Hundreds of young people. Maybe you reach a few dozen. Usually its no results. Just sowing. but for me it’s always about that one, and reaching out. So it’s a small consolation. One young girl, unspoiled, goes home, sober, and happy and smart.
So I know a good spot now for warmer days. God has a plan. A good news plan!
It’s the great love of God in the person of Jesus Christ.
