Jonathan Downie [08/04/2015 12:21 PM] That does not give us the right to impugne leaders though. Note Paul’s directives on that.

John Kissinger [08/04/2015 12:23 PM] Jonathan Stone The article is true and the behavior was approved by Hillsong New York leaders. Why did you report the post to FB? Should we be quiet and accept the abomination of sin in our churches?

Steve Webb [08/04/2015 12:48 PM] Any person openly living in sin should not be allowed in any position within the church, period. This includes works as a custodian or singing in the choir. Sin is sin, and it is absolutely to be called out, preached against, and condemned. It is time we stood up for what is right and true, for if we remain silent we condone inappropriate behavior. And this leads to a people that does not know the difference between church and a club. Holiness is still the standard, and if we have true love for our fellow man then we will sound the warning and speak the truth. Without holiness no one will see the Lord…

John Kissinger [08/04/2015 12:49 PM] Charles Page still cannot figure out if they should be wearing pants or skirts during P&W #OUTdatedARGUMENTS Alan N Carla Smith

Jordan Evans [08/04/2015 12:50 PM] This entire article is false. They were not openly gay, but kept their relationship hidden. Once they went public, they were asked to step down. Brian Houston released a statement today about the whole thing.

Charles Page [08/04/2015 12:51 PM] Steve, if you hold a 501 (C) (3) you have to be careful with your conditional hiring.

Carolyn Martin James [08/21/2015 1:37 PM] OUTRAGEOUS!!! This is hard to believe!

Gary Brown [08/21/2015 2:05 PM]
It’s not true

This was thoroughly repudiated when brought to light by Hillsong leadership – it is dumb to post again the old beginning of the story without the conclusion of the matter

Would hope the Administrators of this site would practice some discernment, this “news” gossip has been debunked….

Tim Anderson This is not a site or page but a group and there’s a difference in handling different internet entities. Tim Anderson I think it was John Ruffle who already run a full chronology and proved the news was very real. John can tell you it is not a gossip, not a rumor, not a smear. Brian just did not have a clue it was going on under his nose. Once it came out public, a cover was run to control the story. It is funny to get an all Tim response 🙂 Now waiting for Timothy Carter

it’s a distraction from the purpose of the gospel. I will not waste valuable time by playing “gotcha”. Best wishes!!

Pls review this chronology on the story prepared by John Ruffle before making anymore harsh conclusions. http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/timeline-clarification-and-statement-on-the-hillsong-gay-choir-director/

The reason for the repost was to show Jim Price that homosexuality in the church is no harmless love between two meek people and it has a very long term and very painful effect on the Christian church. The two Hillsong choir individuals from the picture are Josh Canfield and Reed Kelly. They are a proudly support the LGBT Agenda and are planning their wedding in 2016. They feel no conviction of any kind for the lifestyle they lead, and yet, shockingly, they are allowed to lead the worship choir during church services. Has the church failed to minister to them?

I never said that they were in the church nor that a gay lifestyle was harmless. I only said that they were meek and never acted like the hoodlums we see in Genesis 19.

As the blogger writes, the only thing worse than a false story is a partial one. Far be it for “repudible” media outlets to run with a story that may lead to a scandal. http://jonathanmerritt.religionnews.com/2015/08/10/why-survivors-broadway-boyfriends-will-keep-singing-with-hillsong-church/

Well, personally I think we should start interceding that God will rain fire and brimstone down on every Hillsong Church — and every church that uses Hillsong music — just to show that he doesn’t approve of homosexuality.

Let’s be careful to call for fire amd brimstone. It might hit you instead.

Well that’s one option. As a musician, I hope there is another option

Let the facts speak for themselves:
Timeline, Clarification and Statement on the Hillsong gay choir director:

    1. In January of 2015, Hillsong NYC Church had an openly-out gay church member leading choir and also sing on their worship team

    2. Josh Canfield was leading Hillsong worship choir, with his “fiance” Russ Kelly also singing in the choir

    3. Canfield’s story was published in multiple reputable sources like the New York Times and CNN

    4. There are no published statements to the contrary disputing Josh Canfield’s choir leadership for that period of time

    5. HillSong’s position now (august 2015) is that Josh Canfield was a choir leader, but they were “unaware” of his openly gay relationship

    6. Although Josh Canfield’s Twitter (@joshuacanfield) has a picture of both of the #BroadwayFiances dated 1:03 PM – 23 Jul 2015

    7. Josh Canfield, in an interview with Playbill.com, said this: “I became truthful with my church. I’m a part of Hillsong NYC. I’m one of their choir directors. I also sing on their Worship team. They’ve been amazing as well. Nothing has changed there now that I’m completely out and with Reed. He sings in the choir as well. http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/timeline-clarification-and-statement-on-the-hillsong-gay-choir-director/
