Nahh there’s no way a Christian can have a demon. A demon can have a Christian though…

This makes no sense and is a play on words. Fact is Christians can be influenced and possessed if they open their minds. Man is body soul and spirit. Possession is in the mind and body not the spirit

If a church has “Christians” in it with “demons,” its because the Gospel is not preached there, and the Holy Spirit is not present.

What deliverance? Where the Holy Spirit is present, demons are not, or quickly so.

The deliverance mentioned in Mt 28 and Mk 16 Most churches practice the Great Omission instead of the Great Comission People are tempted in many areas today

If you can’t face God you won’t be able to face men. If you can’t face sin you won’t be able to face the devil. To be bold with men comes from boldness with God. And that friends is by the blood of Christ. When Jesus grants access to the throne of God, the courts of men and their hollow judgments loose all their power.

one thing I;ve noticed that any time deliverance prayers are promoted demons get pretty furious against true Christians And not just deliverance sermons or sermons about deliverance ministry and so on general talk BUT specific prayers, directions and tools Christians can use in demonic warfare – they get pretty furious

I see a peculiar dichotomy in this concept of Deliverance. Yes, there are some that seem to have a gift of deliverance. Even the apostate seem to have this gift. Most deliverance ministries I have seen NEVER preach the Gospel, although they use the name of Jesus Christ. But there is another form of deliverance that I believe superior. And that, is simply belonging to an assembly where the Holy Spirit is present and the name of Jesus Christ is lifted up. Demons cannot freely associate or hide there. And there, the deliverance is secured.

Dan Irving I offer the following perspective for considerations. So basic verse light cannot with darkness, Jesus with Satan and so on

We clearly see a legion of demons in the presence of Christ The Greek explains it clearly IMO http://probible.net/luke-827/

Troy Day, I have been preoccupied with my wife in the hospital the last two days with a possible stroke. But she is doing well, with no stroke symptoms remaining. I have taught Spiritual Warfare and Deliverance at the doctoral levels. I highly recommend Neil Anderson’s Bondage Breaker/Freedom in Christ/Truth Encounter approach. I will respond with more later.

I’ve started with the interview of Niel Anderson, author of “bondage breaker” seems very reasonable to me. He says “We give satan an opportunity to shipwreck our lives when we have unforgiveness”

I am all in favor of casting out demons. But I have noticed that many times the so called deliverance ministers do not have the faith or power of God behind them so when nothing happens they blame the victim that they are supposedly trying to help

From my book God’s Healing Arsenal: Levels of demonic influence and involvement

  • Paul L. King

    Paul L. King

    Level 1 Wrong Thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5)
    Level 2 Imaginations (2 Corinthians 10:4)
    Level 3 Action (James 1:15)
Level 4 Continued Sin (produces ungodly habits, which opens up a doorway) (John 5:14)
Level 5 Loss of Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 5:19)
Level 6 Demonic Influence (Ephesians 4:27)
    Level 7 Deception (Romans 1:21-22; 1 John 1:8)
    Level 8 Oppression (2 Peter 2:19-20)
    Level 9 Obsession/Compulsion (John 13:27)
Level 10 Demonic Control (Matthew 27:5)

Problems with the demonic (unless generational or due to a trauma) often begin with our mind—wrong thoughts. That is why it is crucial to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Wrong thoughts then lead to unsanctified imaginations, which in turn lead to wrong actions, and so on and on down the spiral. Levels 1-8 can usually be taken care of through prayer, truth encounter, rebuke, and binding spirits. Levels 8-10 may indicate that demonic spirits have enlodged themselves deeply and thus may need to be cast out.

Peter uses the exact same language in Greek as Jesus to describe demonic bondage of a believers as the casting out of demons generically: DEMONIC BONDAGE OF A BELIEVER

    Compare 2 Peter 2:18-20 with Matthew 12:43-45
    (Peter describes a believer’s bondage
in the precise words that Jesus describes
    an unbeliever’s demonic bondage)

    Matthew 12:43-45 2 Peter 2:18-20

Unclean spirit is gone Escaped pollutions of world

Demon returns with entangled again and overcome
    seven more wicked (enslaved)
    and dwell there

Well we don’t want sin or the devil but he’s tricky and sin is deceitful. Gotta get under the blood of lamb and lean wholly on Jesus Christ. He knows best.
